PAKURANGA HUNT

MEET AT FLAT BUSH HARES TOO GOOD FOR HOUNDS Hard running was the order of the day on Saturday for the large number of huntsmen who attended the meet of the Pakuranga Hunt at th« Flat Bush School. Hares were plentiful, and some long and enjoyable runs took place. The quarry in each instance managed to elude the pack. The first draw was made on the farm of Mr. Ted Blake, where a strong bare was soon raised. It led the large following through the properties oi Messrs. Ormison Bros., Rutherford James Ross, and across the road into McCarthy’s, and in a circular run continued through Messrs. Hope-John-stone’s, Brady's, and again on to tM road. The quarry found shelter 10 a clump of bush on Mr. Blake’s farm. Another good hare was put up is Mr. Rutherford’s. It ran across Mr. Ormiston’s and Murphy’s, through Mr. Gordon Gillard’s. and roun the farms of Messrs. Baker, Stojj* Bros, Stubbings, and back on to »• Gillard’s, thence across the road t Knapping’s, and after crossing a ber of farms found shelter in MurpnjTBush. . There were also a number of snori runs, but the hounds were unable register a kill. Mr. H. Bullock-Webster, master the hunt, was in charge. . - There were a number of the day. Mr. Adams received to his nose. Mr. M. Wilson’s sahib got caught in a wire jump was cut about the fetlock.
