SIR ALOGY’S RECORD WIN (United P.A. —By Telegraph — Copyright) MELBOURNE, Sunday. The Victoria Amateur Turf Club’s August meeting opened at Caulfield yesterday. The principal event resulted as follows: AUSTRALIAN HURDLE RACE Of £2,100; 35 miles and 20yds. SIR ALOGV (A. T. Cresw'ick), br g, by Analagy—Dainty Step, syrs, 9.0, K. Scott 1 RUM FORD (Ryder and Mullins), b g by Trafalgar—lngleara, 6yrs, 10.9. Shepard 2 LONGLANDS (V. O’Neil), b g, by Pershore—Barley Bree, syrs, 10.7, Turner .. .. 3 Eleven started. At the Ist hurdle Sir Alogy was five lengths clear of Rumford, who was 10 lengths ahead of Longlands. Sir Alogy maintained his lead rounding the home turn and came into the straight well clear. He ran home an easy winner by five lengths, with Longlands seven lengths away third. Time, 6.55, a record for the race.
