The winners will play the Auckland semi-final winners at Auckland on August 18. Hastings United won the toss and played with a strong westerly wind in their favour. Petone played better football, but were affected by the wind. D. Penman scored for Hastings. Petone kept up the pressure by fine combination and McKenzie equalised. In the second half Petone kept their opponents in their half, and only the wonderful efforts of Wilson, the Hastings goal-keeper, prevented a runaway victory. Leslie scored twice for Petone. In the final stages Hastings made strenuous efforts to .null the game out of the fire, but without success. SECONDARY SCHOOL REPS.
