BRILLIANT DECORATIONS MARK TENNIS CLUB BALL ! I TROPHIES PRESENTED Vividly coloured streamers, and gay paper butterflies, were used with striking effect in the East Tamaki public hall on Friday evening, when the members of the East Tamaki Tennis Club, with crowds of their friends, celebrated the club’s annual ball. The Merry Jesters’ Orchestra provided a programme of delightful dance numbers. Messrs. Alex. Baird and D. Knight carried out the duties of M.C.’s. A number of novelty dances were held during the evening. The president, Mr. James Ross, presented the trophies won during the season. The successful competitors were: Women’s championship singles, Miss A. Ferguson; men’s handicap singles, Mr. L. Knight; ladies’ junior trophy, Miss D. Rodewald; men’s junior trophy, Mr. Bowden Baird. Much of the success of the function was due to the untiring efforts of Miss N. Hope-Johnstone, the social secretary.
