PETROL BOWSERS ROBBED

THEFTS IN SUBURBS For the fourth time in the last four months, the petrol-pump outside Paine Bros.’ garage, at Mangere Crossing, was broken open on a recent night and about ten gallons of petrol taken. The police of the district have had the pump under observation, but it is evident that the unauthorised visitors have kept a keen eye on the officers of the law. On each occasion the thefts have been committed toward the end of each month.

On the same night the bowser at the East Tamaki Dairy Factory was interfered with, and the lock was wrenched open. The loss in this instance was estimated at about eight gallons.
