ROLL OF HONOUR

UNVEILING AT ELLERSLIE CHURCH On Saturday last, August 4, a roll of honour was unveiled in the Ellerslie Presbyterian Church by Mrs. Frost to commemorate the sacrifices made in the Great War by young men connected with the church. A large attendance listened attentively to a stirring address by the Rev. Angus MacDonald. Mrs. Giesen placed a memorial wreath on the roll. Altogether the service was impressive and inspiring. The Rev. S. E. Hill conducted the reading of Scripture and prayer of dedication, and the service concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. ELLERSLIE PRESBYTERIANS The Rev. S. E. Hill presided at the annual congregational meeting of the Ellerslie Presbyterian Church, at which very satisfactory reports were presented. One hundred and seven members are noAv on the communion roll, as compared Avitli 70 at the beginning of the year. Tho Sunday school and Bible classes are also progressing rapidly, and a new hall is urgently required. The managers are to consider this matter at an early date. The total income for the year was £552, showing an increase on general account of £42. ST. JOHN AMBULANCE QUARTERLY CHURCH PARADE The quarterly church parade of the National Reserve ambulance and nursing divisions of the St. John Ambulance Brigade was held at the Church of the Epiphany, Newton, last evening, when about 40 members were present. Corps-officer U. Hitchon was in charge of the parade and the preacher was the honorary chaplain, the Rev. R. G. Coats.
