Mr- A. Harris, M.P., arrived from Wellington this morning by the Limited. The Hon. J. Craigie. M.L.C., arrived from Wellington by the Limited this jnorning. Mr. R. A. Lippincott returned to Auckland this morning after a visit to the South. Mr. J. R. Mitchell, of the railway staff headquarters, arrived from Wellington this morning. Dr. F. M. Spencer, of Hamilton leaves to-day for England. He will probably be away about three years. Mr. L. P. Leary, who has been visiting Wellington, returned to Auckland by this morning’s Limited. Lieut.-Colonel f’rank Symon, C.M.G., D. 5.0., Director of Artillery, returned to Wellington by the Limited last evening. Judge McCormick, of the Native Land Court, was a passenger from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. H. H. Sterling, General Manager >jew Zealand Railways, arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. J. McCarroll, chairman of the Kaipara Hospital Board, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. J. Priestley, Dominion Secretary of the Sudan United Mission, arrived in Auckland from Wellington yesterday for a month’s visit on mission business. Captain A. Bongard, M.C., N.Z.S.C., has received notice of his transfer from Whangarei to Gisborne. He will be replaced by Captain A. D. T. Neville, Coast Defence, Wellington. Mr. W. "Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, who has been in Wellington on hospital board business, returned to Auckland this morning. Professor Riddet, of the Massey Agricultural College, Palmerston North, arrived in Hamilton this morning to meet Sir John Russell. Mr. E. Casey, Divisional Superintendent, North Island Railways, returned to Auckland this morning after a business visit to Wellington. Sir John Russell, the English soil expert, accompanied by Mr. B. C. Aston, chief Government chemist, and Dr. H. E. Annett, visited Rotorua yesterday. Mr. C. Trussell, of Queensland, has been appointed assistant adjudicator for the forthcoming New Zealand Brass Band Contest. Mr. Trussell is regarded as one of the best band-music composers in Australia.
