“Vacation Waves’’ and “Call Again,” two-reel comedies, will be produced by Edward Everett Horton for release by Paramount. * * * Mary Brian will be co-starred with Charles Rogers in a Paramount picture dealing with college life—-her twenty-sixth leading role. * * * Josephine Dunn has been selected to play second lead in Warner Brothers coming picture, “The Singing Fool,” starring A! Jolson. * * * Belle Bennett and Jean Hersholt, who have been working together on D. W. Griffith’s “The Battle of the Sexes,” will be together again in Hersholt’s new starring picture, “The Braggart.” * * * “Scarlet Seas” has been chosen as the title for the First National pro duction starring Richard Barthelmess. The studio title was “Mutiny." Douglas Fairbanks, junr., in the time he can spare from his work in “The Barker” for First National, is writing verse for the second volume he hopes to have published. Hoot Gibson has completed another of his own productions for Universal released, called “Silks and Saddles.” * * * * * * Two new stories for Dolores Del Rio are being written by Finis Fox. author of the screen plays, “Resur rection,” “Ramona” and “Revenge '* in which the Mexican actress starred.
What about the original authors’ Evidently they do not matter these days! * * * Fola Negri is to be seen in "Loves of an Actress,” her latest Paramount starring vehicle. ■*= * * “Tarzan the Mighty,” the serial adapted by Universal Pictures Corporation from the novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, features Natalie Kingston, as leading woman.
