LOYAL FRANKLIN LODGE
ODDFELLOWS’ BALL The Loyal Franklin, Manchester Unity Oddfellows’ Lodge, celebrated its 47th anniversary ball in the Otahuhu Public Hall last evening. There was a large gathering of members of tho lodge and their friends, and representatives were present from every lodge in the Auckland district. The District Secretary, Bro. John MacLeod, extended a hearty welcome
to the visitors. A delightful programme of musical, numbers was supplied by Meredith’s; Orchestra. The M.C.’s were Bros. J. Hotham, H. Jackson, W. Nield and J. Morgan. During the function the chairman of the committee, Bro. IT. Lovell, presented Sister Haper with a carving service, in appreciation of 30 years’ loyal service to the lodge, and Bro. W. j Gubb, G.M., handed to Sister Kelly a j suit of regalia and past officer’s erablem. The recipient lias the unique distinction of being the first woman to go through the offices of the lodge. The decorations were on a very lavish scale. The hall was decked j with an abundance of streamers and j gay pennants.
