ELLERSLIE SHOWS “MOTHER MACHREE”

“Mother Machree,” a beautiful and poignant story of Irish life, will be shown this evening at the Southern Cross Theatre, Ellerslie. “Mother Machree” tells of a poor Irish family who emigrate to America, but even there the little mother, played by Bello Bennett, is unable to give her son a good education. So she arranges to have him adopted by a wealthy family and brought up as a gentleman. The pathetic touch comes when the mother watches her son fall in love with her own ward. A strong cast interprets the picture, including Ted McNamara, Victor McLaren and Neil Hamilton.
