MR. BRINSDEN DECLINES
GREY LYNN NOMINATION TAKING DOCTOR’S ADVICE After consultation with his medical adviser, Mr. F. W. H. Brinsden, of Auckland, has declined the invitation of the Reform Party to contest the Grey Lynn seat in the interests of the Government. When Mr. Brinsden was asked early this week to stand for the Grey Lynn seat, it was pointed out to him that there were already two candidates in the field—the sitting member, Mr. F. N. Bartram (Labour), and the Liberal candidate, Mr. B. E. ITowse. At the last election Miss Melville, standing for Reform, polled 5,000 votes. Mr. Brinsden, who has been a member of the Auckland City Council for 10 years, topped the poll at the last municipal elections.
