REIGN OF BLOOD
FEARS FOR MEXICO
terrible reprisals likely (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) Bectl. 11.8 a.m. MEXICO CITY, Thursday. AMERICANS here fear a reign of blood, with terrible reprisals, before the Obregon assassination is expiated.
The Attorney-General, Senor Nieto, a formal statement, asserts that Jose Toral, who assassinated General Alvaro Obregon, the President-elect, belonged to an organisation led by the Abbess Maria Conception. "1 am convinced,” declares Senor fcieto, ‘‘that this group of individuals, who directly or indirectly participated
in General Obregon’s murder, belonged to a terrorist organisation headed by none other than the Abbess Maria, an intelligent woman who has been trying to mislead justice. “This organisation resembles the Russian Nihilists, and some Italian associations which were formed to attempt the life of Signor Mussolini.”
