OTAIO SHOOTING AFFRAY
INTRUDER PLACED ON PROBATION STRINGENT CONDITIONS Press Association TIMARU, To-day. At the Supreme Court, before Mr. Justice Adams, Bernard Lewis Blackwell was found guilty of having, at Otaio on May 11, been found by night without lawful excuse on the premises of William Alfred Ancell, the charge being a sequel to the shooting case. Accused was placed on probation for 12 months. Special conditions imposed were that he should pay the costs of the prosecution. make reports to the probation officer monthly regarding his income and expenditure, make proper provision for his wife’s maintenance, take out a prohibition order, keep away from his wife’s relatives, and pay for the damage to Barr’s house.
