SAVED BY ARREST

MIGHT HAVE BEEN KILLED MAN WITH 122 CONVICTIONS Charles McGeahan, who was charged at the Police Court this morning with being disorderly while drunk in Queen Street, has reason to thank the constable who arrested him. “I told him to go home several times,” said the constable. “He was getting in front of motor-cars and trams and I had to arrest him or he would certainly have been killed.” McGeahan, who had 122 convictions recorded against him for drunkenness, asked for a “chance.” “What you want is a chance to recover,” said Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., as he sentenced the prisoner to one month’s imprisonment.
