BIG HOUSE DESTROYED
FIRES AT WELLINGTON Press Association. WELLINGTON, Monday. A 14-roomed, two-storeyed residence at Karori, owned by Mr. Colin James and occupied by Mr. Herbert Watts’ was totally destroyed by lire early thivmorning. Insurance on the building: was £ 650 in the Phoenix Office. The furniture was not insured. About 5 a.m., a two-storeyed shop and dwelling in Ellice Street was badly damaged by fire. The occupier, Mr Patrick Cunningham, had his stock and fittings insured for £4OO in the Lancashire Office and his furniture for £2OO in the same office.
