WORK WELL UP TO TIME (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Monday. Work on the Arapuni power-house is well up to schedule time, according to Mi. A. J. Baker, inspecting engineer, Public Works Department. Wellington, who visited Arapuni* to-day. The di aught tube and turbine scroll casing of the No. 3 uniot are being placed in position and will be concreted in three weeks. At the No. 1 and No. 2 units the work is approaching the level of the draught tubes. The erection of the steel draught tubes on certain of the turbine scroll casing will be commenced within a month. When in operation each unit will be capable of generating 15,000 horse-power. In older to strengthen the rock barrier between the power-house site and the river and to prevent water from the river percolating through to the site, extensive cement grouting has been done. All the plant and machinery required are available near the site and are being installed as the work proceeds. Mr. T. Rabonp is in charge of the power-house construction work.
