Official Courtesies-Callers Received
The first official call to the Idzumo-*-! was paid by Commander Nelson Clover, senior naval officer at Auckland, re- < presenting the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. < From tnen on, the guard of honour was busily engaged presenting arms as ; each official caller came up the gangway. Colonel H. R. Potter, officer commanding the Northern Command, and 1 Colonel Duigan, followed Commander Nelson Clover, and then came Mr. M.
■H. Wynyard. deputy-chairman of the Harbour Board, and the Mayor, Mr. George Baildon. When Mr. I. M. Tokugawa, ConsulGeneral for Australia and New Zealand, paid his call, a salute of seven guns was fired. Eater in the morning the admiral paid return visits to his callers. When the visit was paid to the Defence Office, the admiral and staff were met by a guard of honour from St. Stephen’s College.
