Cooke, 105; Mrs. ; Brown, 106; Mrs. McMillan, 107; Mrs. Mcllraith, 107; Mrs. Xoakes, 109. | Mrs. O’Leary, with a score of 101, was | disqualified for playing the wrong ball, j and Mrs. Taylor did not return a card. I There were 16 entries for the 16 places, | so that there will be two byes in the first round this afternoon. Miss D. Horton, winner of the championship last year, really played the best golf this morning. She was out in 39, but lost touch with her game on the way home. Her crowning tragedy was at the 16th, where her tee shot failed to carry the trees, and she took a 10 for the hole. Mrs. Dufaur started with two G’s and finished the first half with two more. She was out in 45 and home in 42. Mrs. Hosking. who tied for the best place, was slightly more consistent, and was also out in 45 and home in 42. There was only one qualifying round, i and the first round of match-play will | be held to-morrow. WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIPS Mrs. Hosking won this morning’s medal competition with a score of 87— 8, 79. In the junior competition, which is proceeding, Mrs. Choyce is leading with a 111 —34, 77, score. In the junior grade there is every promise of a very hard fight to qualify.
