CUBIST FROCKING

Is the frocking of the future to be in the nature of a cubist nightmare? A popular society leader in London recently created a sensation by appearing in a gown the design of which appeared to he stolen straight from the studio of the most advanced of the schools which portrays nature in strange angles. Isosceles triangles, apparently without motive, ran riot on the bodice, and the skirt was a neat compounding of right angles, squares, oblongs, pentagons and octagons. To add to the attraction of the frock the colour was vivid. Venetian-red predominating. Euclid woujd have delighted in the gown, but the tout ensemble is said to have been over-much for the nerves of the assembly.
