WAIPU PRESBYTERIANS
ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the congregation of the Waipu Presbyterian Church was held in the church on Thursday evening and was largely attended. The Rev. G.* W. Blair presided. The session report stated that the various organisations of the church were in a satisfactory condition. A band of hope, young worshippe.rs’ league, and primary Sunday school, had been begun. and were making good progress. Services had been recommenced at North River and the Cove in the summer months. Tho secretary reported that the title to right-of-way into the church had been secured, and the road had been metalled, making the approach to the church very satisfactory. The treasurer’s statement showed that the givings to the Sabbath collections and sustentation fund had increased by £ 60. The total income amounted to £450. The assets amount to £2,250, and the only liability is a bank overdraft of £lO6. The income of the Ladies’ Guild and P.W.M.U. amounted to £l2O. Advantage was taken of the occasion to present a cheque to Miss E. Griffiths, who is about to leave the district and who has acted as honorary organist to the church for some years. In making the presentation the chairman referred to th© valuable services Miss Griffiths had given to the Waipu Church. The prizes for church attendance were presented to the young people by Mrs. J. N. I. McKay. A number of musical items were contributed by members of the choir and other friends ;ind the proceedings terminated with supper provided by the ladies.
