Churchill Expects Surplus of £14,000,000
0 British Official Wireless. Received i 1.7 a.m. RUGBY, Friday. IN the debate on the Finance Bill, the third reading of which was passed by the House of Commons to-day, Mr. Winston Churchill, Chancellor of the Exchequer, said that as a result of the information available at the close of the first quarter of the financial year, there was a good prospect of a surplus on the year of £14,000,000, and there was no reason why the Budget Estimate as a whole should not be made good.
