MENTAL DEFECTIVES
PROTEST AGAINST BILL EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY At a meeting last evening, at the University College, held under the auspices of the Auckland Education Society, th© proposed Mental Defectives Bill was discussed. Mr. A. G. Lunn was in the chair and the speakers included Professors Anderson and Fitt and the Rev. H. K. Archdall. Mr. A. It was resolved to protest to the government in the following terms: in view of the extreme importance of jne matters proposed to be dealt with n the Mental Defectives Bill, this jneeting urges that the Bill should not ® passed this session, but that it more widely circulated and urther time given for much closer consideration of the proposals contained in it.”
