CAR HITS POLE

THREE MEN INJURED MACHINE BADLY DAMAGED , Three young men returning from a dance about two o’clock yesterday morning were severely injured when the car in which they were driving ran into an electric light pole in Tahora Avenue, Remuera. They were Mr. George McMillan, junr., Mr. Felix Fisher and Mr. Geoffrey Marler. The car was owned by Mr. G. McMillan, senr. The party was coming home from Dixieland and the car was going down hill toward Remuera Road. The driver failed to see the corner owing to the fog and when he jammed on the brakes the car skidded and hit a post broadside on.

The three were taken to hospital and are now reported to be recovering. The car was badly damaged, the body work all along the right-hand side being completely wrecked and the running-board and rear mudguard ripped off.
