AUCKLAND ROCKS AT BEN TRAVERS FARCES
Not for years lias His Majesty’s Theatre echoed to such spontaneous laughter as that ■which greeted “Rookery Nook ” on Wednesday evening. Here is an English farce played perfectly by an almost all-English company. There is something extremely satisfying in healthy English humour, as distinct from the slick American variety with which we have been inundated for the last year or two. , “Rookery Nook” is to be followed by two other Ben Travers pieces—’’The Cuckoo in the Nest” and “Thark.” If there is any truth in the hoary remark •'Laugh and grow fat," Auckland tailors and dressmakers can prepare for a busy season.
