DIXIELAND

“MERCENARY MARY” BALL Under the patronage of Miss Elsie Prince, Mr. Jimmy Godden and Mr. Charlton Morton, a “Mercenary Mary” ball will be held at Dixieland next Wednesday evening, August 1. This will be a grand farewell to this popular company, which will shortly be leaving Auckland. Music supplied by the Dixieland Famous Dance Band will feature “Rio Rita” and “Kinkajou.” The usual Saturday gala carnival will be held this evening, with dancing from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight.
