“LITTLE SHEPHERD OF KINGDOM COME”
PLAZA AND TIVOLI NEXT WEEK
When John Fox chose the backwoods of Kentucky in Civil War days as the place and period of his celebrated novel, “The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come,” he went far afield for adventure and love interest, but his completed novel is so interesting, compelling and intriguing, that First National pictures chose it as a starring vehicle for Richard Barthelmess. This picture, one of the finest that Barthelmess has ever made, is to be th Q attraction at the Plaza and Tivoli Theatres next week, and its coming is one of the big events of the theatrical season here.
“The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come” deals with the adventures which befall a 14-year-old mountain boy, homeless and a wanderer, with no other companion than his faithful dog. They travel into the distant mountain regions, far from civilisation; into the aristocratic homes of the Blue Grass country and into the Union camps, where th e lad meets General U. S. Grant.
