NGATEA LAND DEAL

JUDGMENT ENTERED FOR £550 (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Friday. Judgment was entered for plaintiff for £ 550 damages in the case in the Hamilton Supreme Court, before Mr. Justice Blair, in which Nicholas Alach, farmer, Ngatea (Mr. J. F. Strang), claimed £I,OOO damages from James Cochrane Cleland, farmer, Pio Pio (Mr. E. M. Mackersey), for alleged misrepresentation with respect to the carrying capacity of a farm at Ngatea. Legal argument was heard at length to-day on the non-suit point raised by Mr. Mackersey that there was no evidence of damage. The point was not upheld.
