The New Zealander was showing both speed and aggressiveness. In the sixth round Heeney was forcing the fight all the time. Up till the sixth round the fight was Tunney’s on points, but in the seventh he was side-stepping the challenger’s attack. In the eighth round Heeney’s eye was closed. In the ninth round Heeney landed a right that staggered the champion, but his body was not looking too' good. In the 10th round both men were landing heavy blows, but Tunney was out-boxing Heeney, and the New Zealander was missing badly.
