BUCKLEY RETURNS

“PASSENGER” ON LIMITED

HANDCUFFS HIDDEN BY COAT

With handcuffs hidden by an overcoat John Leslie Buckley and his escorting constable hurried off the Limited this morning. A fairly large crowd, in addition to the passengers, waited to see the recaptured prisoner as he left the train. Others hung about the gate through which Buckley would pass on his way to the police van. But the waiting ones saw little of the man who has figured so prominently in print since May 25.

As the train drew into the station Buckley and the escorting constable were seen sitting in a second-class car. A few minutes later a police sergeant met the two as they stepped from the train and the trio, with handcuffs hidden under a dangling overcoat, stepped briskly to the prison van. Buckley looked quite unconcerned. He was nicely dressed and was wearing glasses.
