PT. CHEVALIER YACHTING

SAILING CLUB’S PRIZE * DISTRIBUTION LARGE NUMBER OF GUESTS There were over 300 present at the Point Chevalier Sailing * Club's boathouse last evening, when the club held its annual distribution of prizes and dance. In addition to members there was a large attendance of yachtsmen representing other clubs. Welcoming the guests, the commodore, Mr. W. Allen, stated that the past season had been very successful. The prospects for next season were bright. The prizes, which made a fine showing, consisted of several cups as well as coils of rope, and many other articles useful both ashore and afloat. A unique trophy was a pair of candlesticks made of gun-metal from H.M.S. New Zealand, and created much interest. The winner was Mr. J. Milne, owner of the 14-footer Ivy. * The distribution ceremony was per-

formed by Mr. M. J. Coyle, president, ! who congratulated the club on its continued prosperity. He made special mention of the success achieved by Mr. A. "Willetts, owner of the 16-footer Mistral, which had won a large number of prizes. The following: are the most important of the prizes and the winning boats: Rawhiti Lodge Cup. Malua .
