The report stated the Kensington Park area liqd been extended by the purchase of three sections at a cost of £3OO, and another adjoining property, costing £1,675. These purchases were necessary for the general improvement of the race track. The club had had recommended an extra day for the autumn meeting. The profit for the year was £1,347. It was resolved to commence at once the building of a members’ stand to cost about £2,000. Mr. J. D. Jones has presented a cup for the winner of the next Whangarei Cup race. Officers ’were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. W. Jones, M.P.; president, Mr. R. G. Hosking (who has held office continuously since 1921); vicepresident, Mr. L. W. Nelson; the retiring stewards, Messrs. J. N. McCarroll, Jas. Mac Kay, A. J. Murdoch, A. McDonald and A. D. Jack, were reelected, and Messrs. A. J. M. Mac Kay, L. H. Weston and T. A. Williams were re-elected as stewards.

Sprinter For The Cup The Kilbroney gelding Panther ran an excellent race in the Stewards’ Handicap on the opening day of the Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting, and was beaten only in the last few strides by Taboo. He was not started again at the meeting, but his connections have continued his engagement in the Winter Cup; so apparently he is to contest the important Riccarton event next month.
