HABITUAL CRIMINAL GETS FURTHER TERM “He went into the bedroom of a housemaid at an Hotel down South and took £4 10s from her bag. He has been declared an habitual criminal and is at present serving a sentence.” Chief-Detective Hammond outlined the case against Albert Foster Smelt, who pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to stealing £4 10s from Annie Scott Aloulder. Smelt was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment.
