RAETIHI PRESENTATIONS
Prior to leaving for Western Australia last week. Mr. R. J. Oliver was presented with a leather pocket wallet by members of the Raetihi branch of the Labour Party. In making the presentation, Mr. A. G. Laloli referred to the sterling qualities possessed by Mr. Oliver, both as a citizen and as a member of the party. Mr. Oliver suitably replied. Many friends and well-wishers of Mr. E. L. Salmon assembled at the local office of Dalgety and Company to bid farewell to him prior to his departure for Auckland. Mr. Salmon was the recipient of a purse well-filled with sovereigns, which was presented to him as a token of the esteem in which he was held by a large circle of friends. Mr. Salmon has been manager of the Raetihi branch of Dalgety and Company for the past three years, and, during that period, he has become a very popular citizen. He is to take up an appointment as auctioneer for Dalgety and Company 4n Auckland.
