BROWN SHIELD GAME

FIXED FOR AUGUST 11 Press Association. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The secretary reported at to-night’s meeting of the New Zealand Football Association Council that he had written to the North Auckland Association in reference to the Brown Shield match with South Auckland. The latter replied that there was a big Rugby game in South Auckland on July 28, and recommended that the shield match should not be played on that date. In the past South Auckland had worked hand in hand with Rugby, and unless that could be continued the game would be seriously affected in the district. Under the circumstances, the coun-

cil did not think it wise for the match to take place on that date, and therefore left the date, August 11, for the match. The reply was approved.
