FALLING OFF OF TRADE (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Cop ... Reed. Noon. SYDNEY, To The Bavin Government is tak* a definite action to solve the coal trade depression. The Premier stated that the Government will insist on a reduction 'in the price of coal, the high price \ which is imposing a heavy burden <>n railways, tramways and other facilities, in addition to keeping up manufacturing costs. The overseas trade, which absorbed 3,500,000 tons in 1913, now stood at only 1,500,000 tons. The inter-state trade had similarly dwindled. A conference of the parties interested, including the Government, i now trying to arrive at a basis of co promise, which will enable the i dustry to be put on a stable footing.
