Leonard returned on the Limited this morning after a business trip to Wellington. Mr. A. E. Robinson, secretary of the Auckland branch of the Farmers’ Union, left for Wellington last evening to attend the conference of representatives of Farmers’ Unions. Mr. E. G. Skeates, Mayor of Birkenhead, who will leave next Tuesday with Mrs. Skeates on a visit to Honolulu, was granted six weeks’ leave of absence yesterday by the Waitemata Electric-Power Board. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth. chairman of the Auckland Electric-Power Board, with Mr. K. If. Bartley, general manager, and N. M. Spoor, secretary, left last evening to attend a conference of power boards in Wellington. Messrs. W. 11. Allen. C. Boyd, R. IT. Seisst. A. J. Giles, J. W. Jones, A. M. Macky, C. C. Munro, If. M. Rushworth and A. McL. Wriglit left for Wellington by the Limited last evening to attend a conference of Farmers’ Union representatives. Mr. W. T. Goodwin, assistant director of the horticultural division, who is at present in Buenos Ayres, Argentine, in connection with the export of New Zealand fruit to that market, is expected back in Wellington in September.
