FIRE ON SHINGLE BARGE

TWO BRIGADES TURN OUT Shortly after 11 o’clock last evening a fire was reported on a shingle barge moored near the Whau Bridge at Avondale. The Avondale and Point Chevalier Brigades turned out and the fire was got under before the barge was seriously damaged.
