EVERYBODY’S AND TIVOLI
LAST TWO DAYS OF “LADY BE GOOD”
The struggling unknown actor, seeking fame and fortune before the footlights, provides one of the most interesting characters of American life. Jack Mulhall plays such an actor in “Lady Be Good,” the screen version of the famous stage success of that name, at Everybody’s and Tivoli Theatres. Mulhall is splendid as the ambitious magician who loves his pretty assistant, and Dorothy Mackaill is cast as the girl. The second attraction is “The Chineso Parrot,” an exciting story starring Marion Dixon, Hobart Bos-
d Burns. The story is full dramatic suspense and mystery, and deals with the first and second generations of two wealthy families whose paths cross time and again in the struggle for fame and riches. Commencing on Thursday there will be shown a new Chester Conklin picture, in “The Big
-IN oise, from the story by Hecht, a prominent American story writer. Hecht has drawn from his vast experiences as a reporter and feature writer in Chicago dailies for his plot for “The Big Noise,” which involves a political campaign in which a nonentity is made famous through publicity for a short space of time, then dropped back into oblivion when the purpose has been served.
Chester Conklin has the best role of Ifis career as the “headliner” who fises to fame with breath-taking rapidity and sinks into obscurity at the same bewildering gait. The second attraction will be “The Nervous Wreck,” an hilariously funny farce starring Harrison Ford, Phyllis Haver and Hobart Bosworth.
