LOEWENSTEiN’S DEATH
AUTOPSY ON THE BODY (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (United Service) PARIS, Saturday. A French Court is now investigating the cause of the death of Captain Loewenstein. An autopsy has disclosed the fact that he had a partial fracture of the skull and that every bone in his body was broken. The indications are that he was alive when he struck the water after falling from the plane. The actual cause of death will not he decided until a toxicological examination has been completed. In explaining why the Loewenstein family desired the autopsy to be performed, deceased’s brothers-in-law, Maitre Converd and Lieutenant Missonne, said they did not suspect anyone, but they did not want someone after the burial saying Captain Loewenstein might have been poisoned before he entered the airplane or might have died in the airplane and then been pushed out. Most extraordinary versions of the tragedy are being circulated, including the theory of murder after a quarrel on board the plane. De L ceased’s relatives say this is absurd, as Captain Loewenstein was strong enough to have dealt with two or three men. The master of the fishing boat which recovered the body has been given a reward of £BO.
