Eut . think that this time bo" you and the other man wera drunk.” ■(Vith these words Mr. W. R. Mc- „ _ <= m convicted Charles Henry Kean, O’Conor, who was charged in comny with Joseph Keys at the Police Court this morning with being found drunk and fighting. Keys, who pleaded guilty, asked for leniency. “Sir,” he said, “I am going to ask you to extend a little gratitude. I had a pint or two too much; that iS O’Conor, who stoutly maintained his innocence, crossed swords with the constable giving evidence “If I was drunk, why did you walk me down the street?” he demanded. “Well, I would have been a fool to leave you where you were while 3 went to look for a taxi, wouldn’t I?” returned the constable. Both men were fined £1 on the first charge, Keys being fined £2 and O’Conor £3 for fighting.
