PAINTING COMPETITION

CUNBEAM JOHN JAMISON heads the list in the last painting competition with an artistic study as green and elusive as the breath of spring. Sunrise tints, woodland flowers, reeds, a calm stream and the addition of several birds and rabbits combine to make this the best piece of work that has yet come to Happy Town from the brush of this promising young artist. Worthy of special mention are the entries of Bessie Perrett and Walter Pearce. The results are as follow: First: John Jamison, 27 Ashton Road, Mount Eden, Auckland (aged 11).
