PROGRAMME FOR SEASON (From Our Own Correspondent.) » NGATEA, Friday. At this week’s meeting of the Hauraki Plains Rugby Union it was agreed that the programme for the rest of the season would probably be as follows: July 21, Dent Cup knock-out competition at Ngatea, Waitakaruru v. Ngatea at 2 p.m., and Turua v. Kerepeehi at 3 p.m.; July 28, final of Dent Cup competition; August 4, Poland Cup match at Paeroa; August 11, Birch Cup challenge match against Thames, at Ngatea; August 18, Piako, at Ngatea, Poland Cup competition; September 1, final Poland Cup, at Waihi; September 8, Thames Valley Union’s Possibles v. Probables; September 15, Thames Valley v. Auckland, at Auckland: September 22, Thames Valley v. Waikato, at Hamilton, and Hauraki Plains v. Thames, at Thames. An effort will be made to arrange a match or home and home matches with the Pukekohe Union. PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ ASSN. A Primary Schools Rugby Union was formed on the Hauraki Plains at a meeting of teachers on Wednesday evening. Mr. W. Chappell, Ngatea District High School, was appointed president, Mr. G. Boswell, Kerepeehi, vice-presi-dent, and Mr. A. J. Simpson secretary and treasurer. It was decided not to affiliate with the Thames Valley Primary Schools Rugby Union, or to enter for the Fleming Shield competition until next seaOn the conclusion of the present competition it was hoped that interschool matches could be held without competing for a trophy of any sort. Play then be confined to primary .school boys only. The secretary was instructed to endeavour to arrange home and home matches with the Thames school representatives.
