BRITISH COLUMBIA POLLS CONSERVATIVE VICTORY (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) ( United Service) Reed. 1.45 p.m. VANCOUVER. Thurs. At the provincial elections for the Legislative Assembly, the Premier, Dr. J. D. McLean, and the majority of his followers, were defeated. There was a sweeping Conservative victory. Thirty-two Conservatives, with the Hon. S. F. Tolmie as leader, were elected; Liberals, nine; Labour, one; doubtful six. The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia has 48 members. There is only one House. The last House consisted of 24 Liberals, 16 Conservatives, 3 Labour, 3 Provincial Party, 1 Independent and 1 vacant seat, a total of 4S. The final term of that Parliament was opened on December 19, 1926.
