WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

SWANSON BRANCH The Swanson branch of the Women’s Institute held its general meeting for July on Wednesday. There was a large attendance, and Mrs. Bchague presided. Final arrangements were made for a gala night on August 11, when a mad-hatter ball will bo held in the town hall. Prizes will be given for (1) the most ancient style of hat, (2) the most modern, (3) the most humorous, and (4) the ugliest. All hats are to bo worn. A quantity of sewing was accomplished for the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary.
