GIFT TO S.P.C.A.
CASES INVESTIGATED
A sum of £3BO comes to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, through the will of the late Mrs. Mary Ann Buckley. At the meeting of the executive notification was received from the Public Trustee, Wellington, that provision was made in the will for the payment of a certain sum to “the New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,”' but there being no organisation of that title in the Dominion, the legacy has been apportioned to the societies in various centres. The report of the society’s inspector, Mr. A. Hollingworth, gave details of 26 cases investigated during the month and of warnings given in eases of cruelty and neglect. The secretary reported that propa* ganda work was being carried on successfully at the society’s stall at the Winter Show, the sum of £l2 having been donated by visitors.
