MORPETH IN FORM MATCHES ARRANGED Sloan Morpeth, New Zealand amateur champion, is playing brilliant golf at present, and this week produced the record round of 64 on Titirangi, where the course bogey at present is 72. His card compared with bogey was: OUT Morpeth .. 34 3 343 4 3 4—-31 Bogey .... 45 4 343 55 4—37 IN Morpeth .. 425 533 4 4 3—33 Bogey .... 435 533 44 4—35 Morpeth recently bought a completely new set of irons, and his game ever since has been improving. Continuing at this rate he should be in excellent, form to defend* his title at Balmacewen in a couple of months’ time. MOSS NOT COMPETING E. J. Moss, the Auckland Club’s professional, and holder of the open championship, will not be competing at Balmacewen, his health not being as good as it might be.
