Brown has travelled throughout the United States and Canada for the last three years and has had 21 lights, winning 18 and losing three. When in New York, Brown met Bruce Flowers, leading contender for the world’s light-weight championship, losing on points over ten rounds. At the time he was suffering from ulceration of the stomach and this necessitated him giving up the game for 15 months. He has now fully recovered and is fighting in great form. His last fight was with Bobby Garcia, conqueror of Billy Grime, at Montreal, on June 13, and the New Zealander won - on points in ten rounds.
