AUCKLAND UNION MEETS

MANAGERS FOR REP. TEAMS Managers for the Auckland A and B representative teams to play Thames and South Auckland respectively at Auckland on Saturday were appointed at a meeting of the Rugby Union Management Committee, presided over by Mr. H. Frost, last evening. Messrs. Tilly and Baker were selected as joint managers for the A’s, and Messrs. Cooper and Iveegan for the B’s. Confirmation was received from the

Bay of Planty Union of August 18 as the" date for the representative match to be played against Auckland, at Auckland. The Junior Management Board advised that Varsity Colts had been selected to play a Kaipara junior team on Eden Park No. 3 at 1.45 p.m. on July 28. . Grants of £5 each were made to assist in the upkeep of the Swanson ground and the ground on the Manurewa Town Board’s sports reserve.

Some discussion took place in regard to club colours, the chief difficultv being that the City and Otahuhu clubs were both playing in red and black hoops. It was decided to ask a delegate from each of the two clubs to meet tho members of the Colours Committee, Messrs. Buchanan and Cooper, to discuss the question. Permission was given the IVlanukau Rovers Club to send a team to Waiuku next Saturday. It was decided to recommend Stanley E. Madden to the New Zealand Union for reinstatement.
