LEAP YEAR DANCE
ORGANISED BY WOMEN Last Saturday evening the young women of Karaka held a successful Leap Year dance. The hall was artistically decorated with red and green streamers, Chinese lanterns, and greenery. Miss Pulliam’s orchestra provided the music, extras being supplied by Mrs. Greenwood and Miss Williams, Messrs. Cowan and Marshall. The M.C.’s duties were carried out by Mrs. Lindsay, and much of the success of the evening was due to her efforts. Miss Pulman, white frock of georgette. Miss Whitehead, black ring velvet frock. Miss L. Glasson, angelica green satin. Miss Comrie, blue embroidered taffeta. Miss Wright, fawn beaded georgette. Miss D. Cummings, mist blue taffeta frock. Miss Stuart (Auckland), black frock of georgette. Miss Williams (Auckland), embossed crepe de chine. Miss Ralph, leaf green georgette frock. Miss Hemus (Christchurch), cream crepe de chine. Miss Miller (Auckland), green crepe de chine, silver lace. Miss Crispe (Pukekohe), black crepe de chine. Miss M- McQuarrie, crimson frock of velvet. Miss Slierkin (Auckland), pink georgette, with gold lace. Miss Young (Helensville), apricot crepe de chine. Miss King, flame taffeta frock. Miss Collins, black and gold georgette.
