CHARLIE CHAPLIN AT BRITANNIA
Charlie Chaplin’s latest comedy, “The Circus,” will be shown this evening at the Britannia Theatre. “The Circus” is a typically uproarious and well-acted Chaplin picture. Charlie is seen as, a tramp who hangs around the bright lights of the circus to catch the glamour and fun. In a moment of extreme shortage of staff the proprietor takes on Charlie as an extra hand and he attempts to copy all the daring acts of the jugglers and acrobats. This part is extremely funny, but still Charlie is the success of the show and stays on. Of course there is a beautiful little girl with whom he falls in love and also a terrible villain who causes all the troubleA second picture is being shown in "Shootin’ Irons,” starring Jack Luden.
